The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Human Interaction: Redefining Communication Norms

Abstract

This study examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on human interaction, specifically in redefining communication norms in the digital era. With the advancement of AI technologies such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and personalization algorithms, communication patterns among individuals have undergone significant changes. This research adopts a qualitative approach through literature analysis and in-depth interviews with AI technology users from various backgrounds. The findings reveal that AI plays a role in facilitating communication, enhancing efficiency, and providing better personalization experiences. However, it also poses challenges, such as reduced empathy in communication, increased dependence on technology, and the potential loss of authenticity in interactions. This study highlights the importance of understanding the social and ethical implications of AI integration in human communication. Therefore, adaptive policies and human-centered approaches are necessary in AI development to ensure that the technology supports healthy interpersonal relationships.
