The Free School Lunch Program has been widely implemented as a strategy to improve the eating habits and nutritional status of school children. This study examines the program's impact by evaluating dietary patterns, nutrient intake, and health outcomes among beneficiaries. Data were collected through a mixed-method approach, combining surveys, focus group discussions, and nutritional assessments of children in primary and secondary schools. Findings indicate a significant improvement in the consumption of fruits, vegetables, and protein-rich foods among participants, along with a noticeable reduction in the prevalence of undernutrition. However, challenges such as food wastage, menu variety, and program adherence were identified, highlighting areas for improvement. The study underscores the importance of integrating nutrition education with meal programs to foster long-term behavioral change. The research contributes to the understanding of how structured interventions, like free school lunches, can address nutritional disparities and promote healthier eating habits among school-aged children, ultimately supporting their overall growth and development.
